The Best Free Online Genealogy Search Sites

When I started researching my family tree 20 years ago, there were a lot of free family search sites available online. People used to do free lookup requests and offer assistance in genealogy forums too.

Now there are a lot of resources available online in digitized forms – many you have to pay to access, but some are still free.
